It is well known that both scaler wavelets and multi-wavelet constructions are based on orthogonal space decomposition. In this paper the approach has been used to remove the orthogonality constraint and by using a main building block on arbitrary smooth class of refinable vector splines, an explicitly formulated corresponding class of spline multi-wavelets with shortest possible associated matrix filter sequences for decomposition and a minimally supported spline multi-wavelet for these optimal filter sequences have been established. Moreover, a multi-wavelet construction method based on the solving of a system of four matrix Laurent polynomial identities has been applied.
