The Bernstein space \(B_\sigma\) is the set of entire functions satisfying \(|f(z)|\le M e^{\sigma|z|}\) for some \(M\) and all \(z\in \mathbb{C}\) with finite norm \(\| \cdot\|_{L^\infty_{\mathbb{R}}}\). A sequence \(\Lambda=(\lambda_k)\) of distinct points in the complex plane is an interpolating sequence for \(B_\sigma\) if the interpolation problem \(f(\lambda_k)=a_k\) has a solution \(f\in B_\sigma\) whenever the sequence \((a_k)\) satisfies the compatibility condition \(\sup _ k |a_k | e^{ |\Im \lambda_k|} <+\infty\). \textit{A. Beurling} [The collected works of Arne Beurling. Volume 2: Harmonic analysis. Boston etc.: Birkhäuser Verlag (1989; Zbl 0732.01042)] gave a description of those interpolating sequences \(\Lambda\) which consist only of real numbers. \textit{C. J. Ortega} and \textit{K. Seip} [J. Funct. Anal. 162, No. 2, 400--415 (1999; Zbl 0916.30036)] extent this characterization to arbitrary complex sequences. Using a different method, the author solves a bit more general problem which consists in simultaneous interpolation of a function and its first \(r\) derivatives in the special case when \(\sup_k |\Im \lambda_k| \le L<\infty\). Though the obtained estimate of the type \(\sigma_0\) of the interpolating function \(F_{\sigma_0}\) is not the best possible, an explicit form of \(F_{\sigma_0}\), up to some conformal mappings, is presented.
