The authors investigate a strongly nonlinear elliptic problem endowed with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary conditions. An inhomogeneous anisotropic \(N\)-function controls the growth as well as the coercivity of the elliptic operator. Under suitable conditions, the existence of solutions is proven and a periodic homogenization process is performed.
