This paper studies the Bogomolov-Gieseker type inequality proposed by \textit{A. Bayer} et al. in their conjectural construction of three-dimensional Bridgeland stability conditions [J. Algebr. Geom. 23, No. 1, 117--163 (2014; Zbl 1306.14005)]. The results are divided into two parts. The first part, Theorem 1.1, gives new counterexamples to the conjecture, which includes smooth projective threefolds containing a divisor contracting to a point. This construction is a consequence of Lemma 3.1 concerning the inequality for the structure sheaf of a divisor, which is shown by a simple argument but seems to have some importance. The second part of the result, Theorem 1.2, constructs a stability condition on the blowup \(\widetilde{X}\) at an arbitrary point on a smooth projective three fold \(X\) assuming the conjecture (or its modification) for \(X\). The proof is based on the result of \textit{Y. Toda} [Math. Ann. 357, No. 2, 631--685 (2013; Zbl 1310.14029)], which gives an equivalence of the derived categories \(D^b(\widetilde{X}) \simeq D^b(X,\mathcal{B})\) with \(\mathcal{B}\) a certain sheaf of finitely generated \(\mathcal{O}_X\)-algebras, and on the observation that the forgetful functor \(D^b(X,\mathcal{B}) \to D^b(X)\) preserves stability.
