Let \(V_1\) and \(V_2\) be Banach spaces and \(B(V_i, V_j)\) the module of all bounded linear operators from \(V_i\) to \(V_j\), where \(i, j\in\{1, 2\}\). Denote by \(P[{\mathbb C}]\) the set of all polynomials with complex coefficients. Take any \(A\in B(V_2, V_2)\), \(B\in B(V_1, V_1)\), \(X\in B(V_1, V_2)\) and set \(\mathcal{A}_{AXB}:=\overline{\{p(AXB):p\in P[{\mathbb C}]\}}\). The paper deals first with finding some sufficient conditions under which the set \(\mathcal{A}_{AXB}\) becomes a Banach algebra. Next, the invertibility of some particular elements of \(\mathcal{A}_{AXB}\) is studied. Defining the spectrum and resolvent set of some elements of \(\mathcal{A}_{AXB}\), some properties of the resolvent function are found. Some other algebras which are isometrically isomorphic to \(\mathcal{A}_{AXB}\) are presented. Finally, some applications to solving some operator equations (e.g., the Stein operator equation and the Sylvester operator equation) are given.
