An alternative concept of Riesz energy of measures with application to generalized condensers (Q2315969)

The authors propose a weaker concept of \(\alpha\)-Riesz energy and apply it to the study of a minimum weak \(\alpha\)-Riesz energy problem over signed Radon measures on \(\mathbb{R}^{n}\) associated with a condenser. The introduction of this new notion allows to fix the result in [\textit{P. D. Dragnev} et al., Potential Anal. 44, No. 3, 543--577 (2016; Zbl 1338.31008)] and to give a negative answer to a question raised by \textit{J. Deny} [Ann. Inst. Fourier 2, 83--99 (1950; Zbl 0042.33602)]. The paper ends with an open problem.
