The authors consider the following problem \[ \begin{cases} \frac{\partial}{\partial t}Fu_t=B(t)u(t)+\Phi (t,u_t), \ t\in (0,\infty),&\\ u_0=\phi \in C([-r,0];X),& \end{cases} \] where \(X\) is a Banach space, \(\big( B(t)\big)_{t\ge 0}\) generates an evolution family \(\{ U(t,s)\}_{t\ge s\ge 0}\) on \(X\) having an exponential dichotomy or trichotomy on \([0, \infty )\), \(\Phi:\mathbb{R}_+ \times C([-r,0];X) \to X\) is a continuous nonlinear operator satisfying a Lipschitz condition with respect to the second variable, and \(F\) maps \(C([-r,0];X)\) to \(D\), where \(D\) is the constant domain of \(B(t)\), \(t\ge 0\). As usual, \(u_t(\theta )=u(t+\theta )\) for all \(\theta \in [-r,0]\). The existence of invariant stable manifolds is derived by using a method based on the Lyapunov-Perron equation combined with the admissibility of some function spaces and fixed point arguments, thus extending the recent results obtained by \textit{P. Van Bang} and \textit{N. T. Huy} [Discrete Contin. Dyn. Syst., Ser. B 20, No. 9, 2993--3011 (2015; Zbl 1331.34141)].
