The authors consider the stacked bases property for the rings \(\mathrm{Int}(E,D) = \{f\in K[X]: f(E)\subset D\}\), where \(D\) is an integral domain with field of fractions \(K\) and \(E\subset D\). In the case when \(D\) is a rank-one valuation domain and \(R=\mathrm{Int}(E,D)\) is Prüfer they give in Theorem 3.5 a description of the spectrum of \(R\) and use it to show that \(R\) has the stacked base property (Theorem 4.3). Then they consider the case when \(D\) is the ring of integers of an algebraic number field and prove that the ring \(\mathrm{Int}(D,D)\) of integer-valued polynomials has the stacked bases property if and only if for every matrix \(B\in M_{2\times2}(D)\) with \(\mathrm{cont}(B) = \mathrm{Int}(D,D)\) there exists a matrix \(C\in M_{2\times2}(D)\) with \(\mathrm{cont}(BC) = \mathrm{Int}(D,D)\) and \(\det(BC) = 0\). Here \(\mathrm{cont}(M)\) denotes the ideal generated by the coefficients of the matrix \(M\) (Theorem 5.6).
