The following differential equation \[ \ddot{u} + \mbox{sign}(u) = p(t) \] is considered, where \(p\) is bounded and continuous on \(\mathbb{R}\) and the limit \[ \overline{p} = \lim_{T\to\infty} \frac{1}{T}\int_t^{t+T} p(s)\, ds \] exists uniformly in \(t \in\mathbb{R}\). It is shown that there exists a sequence \(\{u_n \}\) of bounded solutions such that \[ \inf_{t \in\mathbb{R}} [(u_n(t))^2+(\dot{u}_n(t))^2] \to \infty \quad \mbox{as} \ t \to \infty, \] provided \(|\overline{p}|<1\).
