The article is devoted to \(C_p(X)\) spaces of all continuous functions \(f: X\to\mathbb{R}\), where \(X\) is a topological space, \(\mathbb{R}\) is the real field, \(C_p(X)\) is endowed with the topology of pointwise convergence. Previous results of Christensen-Calbrix [\textit{R.~A. McCoy} and \textit{I.~Ntantu}, Topological properties of spaces of continuous functions. Lecture Notes in Mathematics, 1315. Berlin etc.: Springer-Verlag (1988; Zbl 0647.54001), Theorem 5.7.5], and \textit{E. Michael} [J. Math. Mech. 15, 983--1002 (1966; Zbl 0148.16701), Theorem 11.4] are analysed and reformulated. The analyticity of \(C_p(X)\) is studied in relation with a topological structure of \(X\) such as a submetrizability, hemicompactness, \(k_{\mathbb R}\)-property.
