The paper under review constructs an abstract framework that generates classes of multiple summing multilinear operators. This approach was inspired essentially by the works of \textit{D. M. Serrano-Rodríguez} [Linear Algebra Appl. 439, No. 12, 4110--4118 (2013; Zbl 1292.46031)] and \textit{G. Botelho} and \textit{J. R. Campos} [Monatsh. Math. 183, No. 3, 415--435 (2017; Zbl 1434.46026)], who developed abstract approaches that generalize classes of summing multilinear operators. Of course, many known classes of multiple summing operators fit in this framework and therefore several results are recovered as particular instances of those proven along the paper. New classes of multiple summing operators are introduced as well. Besides the study of operator ideal structure and related features for this presented environment, the authors offer a study of coherence and compatibility (in the sense given in [\textit{D. Pellegrino} and the first author, ibid. 173, No. 3, 379--415 (2014; Zbl 1297.46034)]) for sequences of pairs of ideals of multilinear applications and homogeneous polynomials generated with this approach.
