The influential work of \textit{W. Duke} et al. [Duke Math. J. 71, No. 1, 143--179 (1993; Zbl 0798.11024)] showed that the problem of counting integer points on homogeneous affine varieties of the form \(G/H\) for reductive linear algebraic groups \(G\) and \(H\) defined over \(\mathbb{Q}\) is related to the problem of understanding the possible limiting measures of translates of the \(H(\mathbb{R})\)-invariant measure in the space \(G(\mathbb{R})/G(\mathbb{Z})\). Among many significant results in this direction, \textit{U. Shapira} and \textit{C. Zheng} [Compos. Math. 155, No. 9, 1747--1793 (2019; Zbl 1422.37001)] considered the orbits of real points of a maximal \(\mathbb{Q}\)-split torus on \({\mathrm{SL}}_N(\mathbb{R})/{\mathrm{SL}}_N(\mathbb{Z})\). Here this is extended by removing the \(\mathbb{Q}\)-split requirement and classifying the possible limit measures under translation by elements of \({\mathrm{SL}}_N(\mathbb{R})\).
