The author investigates the following IVP for a class semilinear heat equations \[ \begin{aligned} u_t&= \Delta u+|u|^{p-1},\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N,\quad t>0,\\ u(x, 0)&= u_0(x),\quad x\in \mathbb{R}^N, \end{aligned} \] where $p$ is the Lepin exponent, i.e., $p=1+\frac{6}{N-10}$, $\Delta$ denotes the Laplacian in $\mathbb{R}^N$, $u_0$ is a bounded function in $\mathbb{R}^N$. The author studies the blow-up rate of $\Vert u(\cdot, t)\Vert_{L^{\infty}(\mathbb{R}^N)}$ as $t$ approaches the blow-up time $T$. In the paper is proved that there exist positive radially decreasing solutions of the considered IVP which exhibit type II blow-up at $t=T$, $x=0$ and the author gives the exact blow-up rate, estimates in a neighborhood of the inner layer, and estimates in the self-similar regions. Moreover, the author proves that $-\Delta u$ exhibits the same blow-up rate of $u^p$. The author presents a classification of radial blow-up solutions in terms of blow-up rates.
