Let \(F\) be an archimedean local field and denote \(G_n =\mathrm{GL}(n,F)\). The mirabolic subgroup \(P_n\) of \(G_n\) consists of all matrices with the last row \((0,\dots,0,1)\). The authors consider for \(G_n\) the category of smooth admissible Fréchet representations of moderate growth. They investigate the notion of derivatives for such representations. The notion of derivatives is known for smooth representations of \(G_n\) in the case \(F = \mathbb Q_p\). In the archimedean case, an analog of the highest derivative was defined by the third author for irreducible unitary representations. A key ingredient of these definitions is the functor of twisted coinvariants with respect to the nilradical of the mirabolic subgroup \(P_n\). In this paper the authors prove the exactness of this functor and compute it for a certain class of representations. This implies the exactness of the highest derivative functor, and allows to compute the highest derivatives of all monomial representations.
