The theory of modulars on linear spaces and the corresponding theory of modular linear spaces were founded by \textit{H. Nakano} [Modulared semi-ordered linear spaces. Tokyo: Maruzen. I (1950; Zbl 0041.23401)] and were intensively developed by his mathematical school. At present, the theory of modulars and modular spaces is extensively applied, in particular, in the study of various Orlicz spaces and interpolation theory, which in their turn have broad applications. Non-commutative Orlicz spaces can be defined either in an algebraic way [\textit{W. Kunze}, Math. Nachr. 147, 123--138 (1990; Zbl 0746.46062)] or via Banach function spaces [\textit{P. G. Dodds} et al., Math. Z. 201, No. 4, 583--597 (1989; Zbl 0653.46061)]. \textit{M. H. A. Al-Rashed} and \textit{B. ZegarliƄski} [Stud. Math. 180, No. 3, 199--209 (2007; Zbl 1126.46042)] established the theory of non-commutative Orlicz spaces associated to a non-commutative Orlicz functional. Recently, \textit{G. Sadeghi} [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 395, No. 2, 705--715 (2012; Zbl 1258.46025)] considered another approach based on the concept of modular function spaces. This paper is devoted to a study of some properties of non-commutative Orlicz spaces associated with growth functions.
