The author defines the Fock space as \(F^2=L^2(\mathbb{C},d\lambda) \cap H(\mathbb{C})\), where \(H(\mathbb{C})\) is the space of entire functions, \(\mathbb{C}\) is the complex plane and \(d\lambda (z) = \frac{1}{\pi}e^{-|z|^2}\, dA(z)\) is the Gaussian measure on \(\mathbb{C}\). The author poses the following problem: ``characterize the functions \(\phi \in F^2\) such that the integral operator \[ S_\phi f(z)=\int _\mathbb{C}f(w)e^{z\bar{w}}\phi (z-\bar{w})\, d\lambda (w) \] is bounded on \(F^2\)''. If \(\phi =1\), then \(S_\phi\) is the identity operator. The author discusses some further properties of this operator. (i) If \(\phi =z\), then \(S_\phi\) is unbounded on \(F^2\). (ii) If \(\phi = e^{z\bar{a}}\), then \(S_\phi\) is bounded if and only if \(a\) is real. (iii) If \(\phi = e^{az^2}\), then \(S_\phi\) is a bounded operator. (iv) The author outlines an argument that the classical Hilbert transform is unitarily equivalent to the operators \(S_\phi\) with \(\phi = -\frac{2}{\sqrt{\pi}}A(\frac{z}{\sqrt{2}})\), where \(A(z)=\int _0^ze^{u^2}du\), \(z\in \mathbb{C}\). Finally, the author shows that if \(S_\phi \) is bounded on \(F^2\) for \(\phi \in F^2\), then the Berezin transform of \(S_\phi\) is given by \(\phi (z-\bar{z})\).
