    Let \(M_{1},\dots,M_{n}\) be Orlicz functions. Denote by \(l_{\Sigma M_{i}}^{n}\) the space \(\mathbb{R}^{n}\) equipped with the norm \(\left\| x\right\| _{\Sigma M_{i}}=\inf \left\{ \rho >0: \sum _{i=1}^{n}M_{i}\left( \frac{ \left| x_{i}\right| }{\rho }\right) \leq 1\right\} \), which is called a Musielak-Orlicz space. Suppose that the Orlicz functions \(M_{1},\dots,M_{n}\) are strictly convex, twice differentiable and strictly \(2\)-concave with \( M_{i}^{\ast }\left( 1\right) =1\), where \(M_{i}^{\ast }\) is the conjugate function to \(M_{i}\) in the sense of Young. Then the author gives a formula for \( a_{i,j}\) such that \[ \frac{1}{n!}\sum _{\pi \in S_{n}}\left( \sum _{i=1}^{n}\left| x_{i}a_{i,\pi \left( i\right) }\right| ^{2}\right) ^{1/2} \] is equivalent to a Musielak-Orlicz norm \(\left\| x\right\| _{\Sigma M_{i}}\), where \(S_{n}\) is the group of all permutations. Consequently, such a Musielak-Orlicz space \(l_{\Sigma M_{i}}^{n}\) is isomorphic to a subspace of \(L^{1}\). This is a generalization of results proved by \textit{C. Schütt} for Orlicz spaces [Stud. Math. 113, No.~1, 73--80 (1995; Zbl 0835.46023)].
