Let \(p\) be a prime integer, \(F\) an extension of \(\mathbb Q_{p}\) and \(k\) an extension of the residual field of \(F\). The main result states that if \(F\) is a quadratic extension of \(\mathbb Q_{p}\), the supersingular irreducible smooth \(k\)-representations of the linear group \(\mathrm{GL}_{2}(F)\) with central character are not finitely presented. The same result is expected for any nontrivial extension of \(\mathbb Q_{p}\). The proof is based on the study of the modules over a twisted polynomial ring (which is left coherent) and uses homological algebra methods developed from the ideas in the preprint of \textit{M. Emerton} [``On a class of coherent rings, with applications to the smooth representation theory of \(\mathrm{GL}_{2}(\mathbb Q_{p})\) in characteristic \(p\)'', Preprint, \url{http://www.math.uchicago.edu/~emerton/preprints.html}]. It is written in a quite general way, clearly identifying why the main result isn't yet available for any nontrivial extension \(F\) of \(\mathbb Q_{p}\) (cf. remark 2.25). Let us remind that a supersingular irreducible smooth representation \(\pi\) of \(\mathrm{GL}_{2}(F)\) with central character is, up to torsion by a character, a quotient of a certain quotient \(\pi (\sigma,0)\) of a compactly induced representation \(\text{Ind}_{\mathrm{ZGL}_{2}({\mathfrak o}_{F})}^G \sigma\) where \({\mathfrak o}_{F}\) is the integers ring of \(F\), \(Z\) is the center of \(\mathrm{GL}_{2}(F)\) and \(\sigma\) an irreducible smooth representation of \(\mathrm{ZGL}_{2}({\mathfrak o}_{F})\). Along the way, the author proves the non-admissibility of the quotients \(\pi(\sigma,0)\) without restriction on \(p\) or ramification index of \(F\) (\S 2.3) as well as a converse of a result of Y. Hu translating the question of presentation of \(\pi\) in a problem of computing the dimension of a \(k\)-vector space depending on \(\pi\) and \(\sigma\) (Theorem 2.5 and Corollary 2.10).
