The purpose of the paper is to describe the asymptotic behavior of the solution to a semilinear parabolic problem posed in a 2D thin domain, with homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions on the oscillating boundaries of the domain. The author considers the domain \(R^\epsilon =\{(x,y)\in \mathbb R^2\mid -\epsilon G_\epsilon (x)<y<\epsilon H_\epsilon (x)\}\), where \(G_\epsilon (x)=G(x,x/\epsilon^\alpha )\), \(\alpha >1\), and \( H_\epsilon (x)=H(x,x/\epsilon )\), \(G\) and \(H\) being positive and bounded \(C^1\)-functions which are periodic with respect to their second argument. He considers the semilinear parabolic problem \(w_t^\epsilon -\Delta w^\epsilon +w^\epsilon =f(w^\epsilon )\) posed in \(R^\epsilon \times (0,+\infty )\) with Neumann boundary conditions \(\frac{\partial w^\epsilon}{\partial n}=0\) on the boundary of \(R^\epsilon\). Here, \(f\) is supposed to be smooth and to satisfy \(\lim \sup_{| s| \rightarrow \infty}\frac{f(s)}{s}<0\). The main result of the paper describes the asymptotic behaviour of \(w^\epsilon\) in terms of the solution of local problems. For the proof, the author also requires the properties of an extension operator. The paper ends with the study of the convergence of the associated linear semigroup and with the proof of the upper semicontinuity of the attractors and the study of the set of equilibria.
