The famous Blaschke-Santaló inequality states that the volume product \(V(K)V(K^s)\leq V(B_n)^2\), where \(K^s\) represents the polar body of a convex body \(K\subset{\mathbb R}^n\) with respect to its Santaló point \(s\), and \(B^n\) is the Euclidean unit ball. Equality holds if and only if \(K\) is an ellipsoid. The stability version of this inequality was obtained via the Banach-Mazur distance \(\delta_{{\mathcal B}{\mathcal M}}\) by \textit{K. Böröczky jun.} [Adv. Math. 225, No. 4, 1914--1928 (2010; Zbl 1216.52007)] for \(n\geq 3\), the order of approximation being improved by \textit{K. M. Ball} and \textit{K. J. Böröczky} [Monatsh. Math. 163, No. 1, 1--14 (2011; Zbl 1217.60014)]. In the paper under review the author provides a stability version of Blaschke-Santaló's inequality in the plane by proving that there exist constants \(\gamma,\varepsilon_0>0\) such that, if \(0<\varepsilon<\varepsilon_0\) and \(K\) is a planar convex body satisfying \(V(K^s)V(K)\geq\pi^2/(1+\varepsilon)\), then \(\delta_{{\mathcal B}{\mathcal M}}(K,B_n)\leq 1+\gamma\varepsilon^{1/2}\). If, in addition, \(K\) is symmetric with respect to the origin, then the approximation order is improved to \(1/2\).
