Semilinear damped wave equation in locally uniform spaces (Q2357751)

This paper deals with the existence of a locally compact attractor and an upper bound on the Kolmogorov \(\epsilon\)-entropy of a damped wave equation with a nonlinear damping in the locally uniform spaces. The existing methods cannot apply directly to this case due to the unbounded domain and the lack of compactness of these spaces. To get asymptotic compactness, a so-called squeezing property of solution operators in the space of trajectories is proved without the presence of the standard decomposition argument.
