This paper is a continuation of earlier work of the authors [Banach J. Math. Anal. 9, No. 2, 114--126 (2015; Zbl 1329.47007)] on \(q\)-frequent hypercyclicity. This concept coincides with the frequent hypercyclicity of \textit{F. Bayart} and \textit{S. Grivaux} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 358, No.~11, 5083--5117 (2006; Zbl 1115.47005)] for \(q = 1\). The authors investigate \(q\)-frequently hypercyclic linear maps defined on Banach algebras of operators on Banach and Hilbert spaces. They present a sufficient criterion for \(C_{R,T} (S):= RST\) to be \(q\)-frequently hypercyclic on the algebra of compact operators on Banach spaces and give applications to the unilateral and bilateral shift operators. If \(R\) is a bounded operator satisfying the \(q\)-frequent hypercyclicity criterion, then the map \(C_R(S):= RSR\) is shown to be \(q\)-frequently hypercyclic on the space \(K(H)\) of all compact operators and on the real topological vector space \(S(H)\) of all selfadjoint operators on a separable Hilbert space \(H\). They also study this operator on the space of the Schatten-von Neumann classes. In the last section, they use an eigenvalue criterion due to \textit{S. Grivaux} [Indiana Univ. Math. J. 60, No.~4, 1177--1202 (2011; Zbl 1256.47010)] to characterize frequent hypercyclicity of certain maps of the form \(C_{R,T}\) defined on spaces of operators on the classical Hardy space and on \(\ell_p\).
