Let \((M,g,Q,\Lambda)\) be an \(n\)-dimensional time- and space-oriented pseudo-Riemannian spin manifold of signature \((p,q)\), i.e., \(p>1\) and \(q>0\), where \(Q\) is the spin and \(P_M\) the connected frame bundle of \(M\). Let \(\Gamma(E)\) be the set of smooth sections of a bundle \((E,M,\pi)\), \(S=Q\times_{\kappa_{p,q}}\Delta_{p,q}\) the spinor bundle of \(M\), \(\nabla^g\) the Levi-Civita connection on \(M\), and \(\nabla^S\) the induced covariant derivative on the spinor bundle \(S\). Then the operator \(D:\Gamma(S)\overset{\nabla^S}{\longrightarrow}\Gamma(T^*M\otimes S)\cong\Gamma(TM\otimes S)\overset{\mu}{\longrightarrow}\Gamma(S)\) is called Dirac operator of the spinor bundle \(S\), where \(\mu\) is the Clifford multiplication. If \(\xi\subset TM\) is a \(p\)-dimensional time-like subbundle and \(\eta\subset TM\) is an orthogonal space-like complement, then there is a Riemannian metric \(r_{g,\xi}\) on \(TM\). The space \(\Gamma_c(S)\) of compactly supported spinors equipped with an inner product \((\cdot,\cdot)_\xi\) is a pre-Hilbert space. The completion of \(\Gamma_c(S)\) with respect to \(||\cdot\|_\xi\) is denoted by \(L^2_\xi(S)\). If \(E\) is a real or complex vector bundle equipped with a Euclidean or Hermitian bundle metrics \(h_1\) and \(h_2\), then \(h_1\) and \(h_2\) are said to be quasi-isometric if there is a constant \(c\geq 1\) such that \[ c^{-1}h_1(e(x),e(x))\leq h_2(e(x),e(x))\leq c h_1(e(x),e(x)) \] for all sections \(e\in\Gamma(E)\) for every \(x\in M\). In this paper, the author studies the spectrum of the Dirac operator \(D\) on a pseudo-Riemannian spin manifold \(M\) of signature \((p,q)\), considered as an operator in the Hilbert space \(L^2_\xi(S)\) depending on a \(p\)-dimensional time-like subbundle \(\xi\subset TM\). The author proves that if the Riemannian metrics \(r_{g,\xi_1}\) and \(r_{g,\xi_2}\) are quasi-isometric, then (i) the \(L^2\)-spaces \(L^2_{\xi_1}(S)\) and \(L^2_{\xi_2}(S)\) are the same as vector spaces and the identity \(I:L^2_{\xi_1}(S)\to L^2_{\xi_2}(S)\) is a bounded isomorphism with bounded inverse, (ii) if \(D_{\xi_i}\) is the Dirac operator and \(\overline D_{\xi_i}\) is its closure in the Hilbert space \(L^2_{\xi_i}(S)\) for \(i=1,2\), then \(D_{\xi_2}\circ I=I\circ D_{\xi_1}\) and \(\overline D_{\xi_2}\circ I=I\circ\overline D_{\xi_1}\), (iii) the spectrum and all its parts of \(D_{\xi_1}\) and \(D_{\xi_2}\), as well as \(\overline D_{\xi_1}\) and \(\overline D_{\xi_2}\) coincide. Also, it is shown that if \(M\) is compact, then the Hilbert space \(L^2_{\xi}(S)\) as a vector space does not depend on \(\xi\), the identity \(I:L^2_{\xi_1}(S)\to L^2_{\xi_2}(S)\) is a bounded isomorphism with bounded inverse for all choices of \(\xi_1\), \(\xi_2\), and the spectrum of the Dirac operator \(D\) and of its closure \(\overline D\) does not depend on \(\xi\). Finally, the author explicitly computes the full spectrum of \(D\) for \(\mathbb R^{p,q}\), the flat torus \(\mathbb T^{p,q}\), and products of the form \(\mathbb T^{1,1}\times F\), where \(F\) is an arbitrary compact, even-dimensional Riemannian spin manifold.
