The main result of the paper is the following generalized King formula. Let \(X\) be a reduced pure \(n\)-dimensional complex space and let \(\mathcal J\) be a coherent ideal sheaf on \(X\) generated by a tuple \(f\) of holomorphic functions. Let \(Z\) be the zero set of \(\mathcal J\) and let \(Z_j^k\) be the distinguished varieties of \(\mathcal J\) of codimension \(k\). Then \[ M_k^f=\mathbf1_Z(dd^c\log|f|^2)^k=\sum_j\beta_j^k[Z_j^k]+N_k^f,\quad k=0,\dots,n, \] where \([Z_j^k]\) is the current of integration associated with \(Z_j^k\), the \(\beta_j^k\) are positive integers, and the \(N_k^f\) are positive closed currents. The Lelong numbers \(\ell_x(N_k^f)\) are non-negative integers that only depend on the integral closure class of \(\mathcal J\) at \(x\), and the set \(\{x: \ell_x(N_k^f)\geq1\}\) has codimension at least \(k+1\). The Lelong number \(M_k^f\) at \(x\) is the Segre number \(e_k(\mathcal J,X,x)\). The polar multiplicity \(m_k(\mathcal J,X,x)\) coincides with the Lelong number at \(x\) of the current \(\mathbf1_{X\setminus Z}(dd^c\log|f|^2)^k\).
