In his previous paper [Hiroshima Math. J. 43, No. 2, 207--221 (2013; Zbl 1277.43014)], the author proved the Paley-Wiener theorem of spherical projection on homogeneous trees. In the paper under review, he extends the work to the case of symmetric graphs \(\mathfrak X\) of type \(k\geq2\) and order \(r\geq2\). Let \(\tau=2\pi/\log(k-1)(r-1)\) and \(\mathbb{T}=\mathbb{R}/\tau\mathbb{Z}\). Let \(\phi_s\), \(s\in\mathbb{T}\), denote the spherical function on \(\mathfrak X\). The spherical projection \(P_sf\) is given as \(P_sf(x)=(f*\phi_s)(x)\) for functions \(f\) on \(\mathfrak X\) and its inversion formula is given as \(f(x)=\frac{(k-r)_+}{k}P_{s_0}f(x)+c_G\int_{\mathbb{T}}P_sf(x)|c(s)|^{-2}ds\). Koizumi characterizes the Paley-Wiener space \({\mathcal T}_N(\mathbb{T}\times{\mathfrak X})\) as the image of \(P_s\) of \(C_N(\mathfrak X)\), the set of all compactly supported functions on \(\mathfrak X\) supported on \({\mathfrak B}_N\). Actually, for \(F(s,x)\in{\mathcal T}_N(\mathbb{T}\times{\mathfrak X})\), there exists a function \(J\in C_N(\mathfrak X)\) such that \[ c_G\int_{\mathbb{T}}F(s,x)|c(s)|^{-2}ds-J(x)=\frac{(k-r)_+}{k}F(s_0,x). \] His method is based on contour integration arguments used in the case of the Euclidean space. As an application, the Paley-Wiener theorem of the Helgason-Fourier transform for \(\mathfrak X\) is also obtained.
