Let \(X \subset \mathbb R^n\) be a set of positive Lebesgue measure. In this article, the authors collect a set of observations about the Banach algebra of bounded measurable functions on \(X\), noting in particular that its maximal ideal space is a totally disconnected but not an extremally disconnected set.
