A class of connections of quantum principal bundles, called strong connections, is specified and the link between the two approaches to noncommutative differential geometry based on quantum principal bundles and projective modules is discussed. The definition of a quantum principal bundle is given by using the Snake diagrams. Strong connections are interpreted as those that are induced from the base space of a quantum bundle. Both strong and nonstrong connections are constructed on the quantum deformation of the two-sphere fibration \(S^2\to \mathbb{R} P^2\). The action of (global) gauge transformations on the space of connections is defined and it is shown that this action preserves the strongness of a connection. The global curvature form on a quantum principal bundle is introduced starting from the properties of the exterior covariant derivative associated with a strong connection. Finally, a particular form of the Yang-Mills action on a trivial \(U_q(2)\)-bundle is investigated in detail.
