Let \(n\geq 2\) be an integer and \(p\) be a fixed prime. If \(\{A_ 1, \dots, A_{n}\}\) is a rigid set of subgroups of the additive group of rationals \(\mathbb{Q}\) each of which contains 1 but not \(1/p\), then the subgroup \(G= G(n,j)= (A_ 1\oplus \dots \oplus A_ n)+ Z((1, \dots, 1)/ p^ j)\) is an almost completely decomposable group. Define \(R^ \#= R_ 1\times \dots\times R_ n\), where \(R_ i\) is the endomorphism ring of \(A_ i\), \(i=1,\dots, n\), and let \(R= R(n,j)= \{(r_ 1, \dots, r_ n)\in R^ \#\mid r_ 1\equiv \dots \equiv r_ n \pmod {p^ j}\}\) be a subring of \(R^ \#\). Further, let \({\mathcal C} (G)\) be the category of finite rank torsion-free abelian groups that are isomorphic to a subgroup of \(G^ k\) for some \(k\) and have an additional property and let \({\mathcal L}_ R\) be the category of \(R\)-lattices, i.e. finitely generated \(R\)- modules that are \(R\)-submodules of finitely generated free \(R\)-modules. The authors investigates the category equivalences of \({\mathcal C} (G)\) and \({\mathcal L}_ R\). In the second part of the paper several important examples are presented.
