The authors give sense to and prove the formula \((x_+^\mu)_+^\lambda = x_+^{\mu\lambda}\) in the sense of distributions for \(\mu>0\) and a non-integer \(\lambda<0\), where \(\lambda\mu\neq-1,-2,\dots\,\). This paper is an almost verbatim copy of [\textit{B.~Fisher} and \textit{K.~Taş}, Indian J.\ Pure Appl.\ Math.\ 36, No.~1, 11--22 (2005; Zbl 1105.46023), reviewed above] that deals with the case of integer \(\lambda\).
