The authors give sense to and prove the formula \((x_+^\mu)_+^\lambda = x_+^{\mu\lambda}\) in the sense of distributions for \(\mu>0\) and an integer \(\lambda<0\), where \(\mu\) is not of the form \(1/k\). The case of non-integer \(\lambda\) is dealt with in [\textit{B.~Fisher} and \textit{K.~Taş}, J.~Math.\ Anal.\ Appl.\ 318, No.~1, 102--111 (2006; Zbl 1105.46025), reviewed below], which turns out to be an almost verbatim copy of the article under review.
