The author presents methods, mostly based on the idea of parametrized bounded operators, for an easy computation of lower bounds for locations of movable singularities, such as poles, movable branch points, other types of vertical asymptotes and derivative blow-ups, of certain nonlinear differential equations. Once identified, these lower bounds could be used within numerical procedures to further approximate the locations of the movable singularities. The methods represent extensions to more general and higher-order differential equations, and are illustrated by a series of examples.
