The paper deals with analytic solutions \(f\) of the linear functional equation \(f(z)=m(z)f(\varphi (z))+a(z),\) where \(a\), \(m\) and \(\varphi\) are given analytic mappings satisfying some additional conditions. The author derives a representation of the analytic solution of this equation in a sectorial neighborhood of a repelling fixed point of the iterated map. Using this representation he obtains an asymptotic expansion of such solutions. Furthermore, under some additional conditions on the domain of analyticity, this asymptotic expansion is used to deduce the asymptotic behaviour of the coefficients of the power series expansion of the solution.
