The Lie bialgebra structures on the Witt algebra \(\text{Der} k[x, x^{-1}]\) were classified by \textit{S. H. Ng} and the reviewer for \(k\) of characteristic zero [J. Pure Appl. Algebra 151, No. 1, 67--88 (2000; Zbl 0971.17008)]. These structures were quantized by \textit{C. Grunspan} [J. Algebra 280, No. 1, 145--161 (2004; Zbl 1137.17303)] who also considered its simple modular Witt algebra \(W(1;1)\) of dimension \(p\) in characteristic \(p\) and its universal (non-restricted) enveloping algebra. Generalized Witt algebras \(W\) (for \(n=1,2,3,\dots\)) were defined by \textit{D. Đokovic} and \textit{K. Zhao} [Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 350, No. 2, 643--664 (1998; Zbl 0952.17015)], and their Lie bialgebra structures at characteristic zero were classified by \textit{G. Song} and \textit{Y. Su} [Sci. China, Ser. A 49, No. 4, 533--544 (2006; Zbl 1171.17007)]. In the paper under review, the authors quantize these Lie bialgebra structures on \(W\) by using Drinfeld twists. They also treat a modular version by taking the positive part \(W^+\) of \(W\). At characteristic \(p\), \(W^+\) contains a maximal ideal and the corresponding quotient is the Jacobson-Witt algebra \(W(n;1)\), and its finite-dimensional restricted universal enveloping algebra is where the quantization takes place. A crucial step is to develop quantization integral forms of \(W^+\) in characteristic zero. There are \(n\) basic Drinfeld twists, which lead to \((2^n)-1\) new quantization integral forms for \(W^+\) in characteristic zero, and eventually to \((2^n)-1\) new examples of Hopf algebras of dimension \(p^{np^n}\) at characteristic \(p\).
