This is the fourth paper of a list of interesting papers that the author has devoted to the use of Hadamard expansions in the asymptotic evaluation of Laplace-type integrals. He introduces in this paper a novel method that he calls ``reverse-expansion procedure''. This technique let the author to face new problems in the asymptotic evaluation of these integrals: the presence of poles in the integrand that may coalesce with a saddle point of the phase function or approach the integration path. In particular, the author studies a Laplace integral with nearly coincident poles, a Laplace-type integral with nearly coincident poles and saddles, a Laplace-type integral with a pole in the phase function and a Laplace-type integral with a pole approaching a saddle. In all of these cases, and as it is typical in the modified Hadamard expansions introduced by the author, the asymptotic expansions are given in terms of incomplete gamma functions. The author illustrates the procedure with several numerical examples.
