The authors consider the following system of difference equations with \(T\)-periodic coefficients \[ \Delta(x(n)-cx(n-\tau))=a_1(n)g_1(x(n))x(n)-\lambda b_1(n)f_1(x(n-\tau_1(n)),y(n-\rho_1(n))) \] \[ \Delta(y(n)-cy(n-\tau))=a_2(n)g_2(y(n))y(n)-\mu b_2(n)f_2(x(n-\tau_2(n)),y(n-\rho_2(n))) \] with \(a_i(\cdot)\), \(b_i(\cdot)\) positive \(T\)-periodic sequences, \(\tau_i(\cdot)\), \(\rho_i(\cdot)\) positive \(T\)-periodic integer sequences, \(\tau\) a positive integer, \(\lambda>0\), \(\mu>0\), \(c\neq 1\) are constants. Using fixed point theorems in a cone (of Krasnosel'skii type) conditions are given for existence and non-existence of one positive \(T\)-periodic solution and for existence of two positive \(T\)-periodic solutions.
