    The paper extends results of \textit{Y. Liu} and \textit{P. Davids} [Phys. Rev. E 61, 2176--2179 (2000)] to the time-continuous chaotic Rössler and Lorenz systems. From the mathematical point of view, dual synchronization means the following: Given two ``master'' systems \[ x'=f(x), \quad y'=g(y), \quad x,y \in \mathbb R^n, \] and two ``slave'' systems \[ x_1'=f(x_1)+l_1(\xi), \quad y_1'=g(y_1)+l_2(\xi), \quad x_1,y_1 \in\mathbb R^n. \] One should find such functions \(\l_{1,2} :\mathbb R\to \mathbb R^n\) and a scalar function \(\xi=\xi(x-x_1,y-y_1): \mathbb R^n\to \mathbb R\) such that the systems are synchronized in pairs, i.e. \[ \| x(t)-x_1(t)\| \to 0, \quad \| y(t)-y_1(t)\| \to 0 \] as \(t\to \infty\) for all initial conditions. The paper of Liu and Davids shows the possibility of this type of synchronization while the present paper considers the case when \(n=3\) and \(f(x)\) is the Rössler and \(g(x)\) the Lorenz system.
