On extension of isometries between unit spheres of \(\mathcal L^{\infty}(\Gamma)\)-type space and a Banach space \(E\) (Q2370748)

The author shows that any isometry from the unit sphere of \({\mathcal L}^{\infty}(\Gamma)\) onto the unit sphere of a real Banach space can be extended to a linear isometry. This improves a recent recent result of \textit{G.--G.\thinspace Ding} [Ill.\ J.\ Math.\ 51, No.\,2, 445--453 (2007; Zbl 1136.46007)], where an additional technical condition was imposed on the isometry.
