The author studies the stability of the explicit-implicit difference methods for an approximate solution of the equation \[ \dot{y}=f(y,t)+g(y,t) \] using the scalar equation \[ \dot{y}= \lambda y + \mu y. \] For two 3-step and 4-step schemes of second order he obtains the condition of strong stability and indicates their domain of stability.
