The author establishes sufficient conditions for the existence and non-existence of positive solutions for the second-order singular differential equation \[ (p(t)x'(t))'+\lambda q(t)f(t,x(t),x'(t))=0 \] subject to a kind of nonlocal Sturm-Liouville boundary conditions. The methodology relies on the fixed point theory on a cone. Some examples are given to illustrate the main results.
