The authors construct a random complete triangulation of the hyperbolic plane by ideal triangles so that the triangulation is Möbius invariant in law and possesses a spatial Markov property. Here, for a triangulation of the hyperbolic plane to be complete means that the triangles are pairwise disjoint and the complement of their union has zero hyperbolic measure. The spatial Markov property roughly means that, given a triangle \((a, b, c)\), the restrictions of the triangulation to the three connected components of the complement of \((a, b, c)\) are conditionally independent, and the part that is beyond \((b, c)\) is independent of the position of \(a\). Moreover, they prove that such a triangulation is unique in law.
