The modified Kranoselskij iteration \(x_{n+1}=(1-\lambda)x_n+\lambda T^n x_n\) with \(\lambda \in (0,1)\) is discussed for an asymptotically nonexpansive mapping \(T\) in a uniformly convex Banach space. Convergence of this method is established under various conditions. Though the authors aimed at a simpler iteration method, the computational implementation of \(T^n x_n\) at each iteration step can be prohibitive expensive and complex. No numerical examples are given.
