Using the generalized energy method, the authors study the effect of rotation on a nonlinear stability of magnetized ferrofluid heated from below, in the stress-free boundary case. The analysis is made for a thermoconvective rotating magnetized fluid by introducing a generalized energy functional. The mathematical emphasis is on how to control the nonlinear terms caused by magnetic body and inertia forces. The basic equations of mass balance, momentum balance, energy and Maxwell equations under the assumption of Boussinesq approximation and magnetization have been given in vectorial form. By introducing perturbations for the basic state, the corresponding equations for this flow are then derived. These equations are further transformed to dimensionless form via corresponding dimensionless variables. Using these equations, a rather complicated mathematical nonlinear stability analysis has been done. It is found, among other things, that the nonlinear critical magnetic thermal Rayleigh number is exactly the same as for linear instability. For lower values of magnetic parameters, this coincidence does not exist. It is also found that with the increase in magnetic parameter, the subcritical instability region between the two theories decreases quickly with the increase in Taylor number. The results are presented in 4 figures and 3 tables. However, since there is no comparison of the present results with ones from the literature, the paper is only of academic interest.
