The authors describe a method for the resolution of the Gibbs phenomenon of a bivariate function. This procedure is the so-called inverse polynomial reconstruction method which has been introduced by \textit{J.-H. Jung} and \textit{B. D. Shizgal} [J. Comput. Appl. Math. 172, No.~1, 131--151 (2004; Zbl 1053.65102) and J. Sci. Comput. 25, No.~3, 367--399 (2005; Zbl 1093.65128)]. This method requires to know the location of discontinuity points in advance. Some numerical experiments confirm the efficiency of the method.
