In this interesting paper the authors consider the stratum \(\mathcal{H}(2)\) (the moduli space of holomorphic 1-forms with a unique (double) zero on a surface of genus two) and obtain the following two main theorems. (Note that these result have been extended in \textit{C. T. McMullen} [Math. Ann. 333, 87--130 (2005; Zbl 1086.14024)]. Theorem 1. For each prime number \(p \geq 5\) one has that the \(\text{SL}_{2}({\mathbb R})\)-orbits of \(p\)-square-tiled surfaces in \(\mathcal{H}(2)\) form two Teichmüller discs \(D_1(p)\) and \(D_2(p)\). Theorem 2. \(D_1(p)\) and \(D_2(p)\) can be represented by the tangent bundles of orbifold surfaces with the following asymptotic behavior: (a) genus \(\sim a_i p^3\); (b) area \(\sim b_i p^3\); (c) number of cusps \(\sim c_i p^3\); (d) number of elliptic fixed points \(\ll p\). Here, \(a_i, b_i , c_i >0\), for \(i \in \{1,2\}\), denote certain constants (which are explicitly given in the paper).
