Recently, Lutwak, Yang and Zhang defined the \(L_p\)-projection body and established the \(L_p\) analog of the Petty projection inequality. This is a very natural notion in the \(L_p\)-Brunn-Minkowski theory. In this paper the authors first extend the notions of the mixed projection body and the \(L_p\)-projection body: they give the definition of the \(L_p\)-mixed projection body -- \(\prod _{p,i}K\) -- where \(p\geq 1\) and \((i=0,1,\dots,n-1)\) of the \(n\)-dimensional convex body \(K\). They also establish the Petty projection inequality for the \(L_p\)-mixed projection body and prove more general quermassintegral forms of the Petty projection inequality. Since the notion of \(L_p\)-mixed projection body is the natural extension of the \(L_p\)-projection body, their results belong to the heart of the \(L_p\)-Brunn-Minkowski theory.
