Quasiconvex functions turn out to be important in many fields of pure and applied mathematics (operations research, optimization, economics, calculus of variations, partial differential equations (PDEs) etc.) and have been extensively studied (see e.g. \textit{N. Hadjisavvas} (ed.), \textit{S. Komlósi} (ed.) and \textit{S. Schaible} (ed.), ``Handbook of generalized convexity and generalized monotonicity'' (2005; Zbl 1070.26002)]. The authors of the present paper are mainly concerned with quasiconvex functions with a suitable regularity, whose closed sublevel sets are compact and convex, with boundary of class \(C^2\) and whose Gauss curvature is everywhere positive. The study is aimed essentially to applications in the field of elliptic PDEs. The second part of the paper deals with the Minkowski addition of quasiconvex functions. The paper is concluded with a list of references containing a number of 32 items.
