The authors investigate irreducible morphisms in some categories \(C_{\mathcal J}^I(\mathcal P)\) of complexes associated with a Krull-Schmidt subcategory \(\mathcal P\) of an additive category \(\mathcal A\). They define five classes of morphisms in \(C_{\mathcal J}^I(\mathcal P)\): \(pm_l,pe_l,im,ie,nsp\) and called these morphisms almost irreducible. One of the main results of the paper is Theorem 1 which says that an irreducible morphism \(f\in C_{\mathcal J}^I(\mathcal P)\) is almost irreducible. Moreover in Theorems 2, 3, 4 the authors give necessary and sufficient conditions for morphisms \(f\in pm_l,pe_l,nsp\) to be irreducible. Applications to derived categories \(D^-(\Lambda)\) (where \(\Lambda\) is a~finite dimensional algebra over a field) are given.
