A detailed convergence analysis for the Nyström method solving a combined boundary integral equation for the solution of sound-soft acoustic scattering problems in three dimensions is considered. The new proposed method is fast and efficient due to the combination of fast Fourier transform techniques and a polar change of variables that cancels out the singularity in the kernel. The authors establish the stability of the method in the \(L^2\) norm and, additionally, provide convergence estimates in both the \(L^2\) and \(L^\infty\) norms. Furthermore, their analysis confirms the super-algebraic convergence of the method which they previously observed in their numerical results using a smooth right-hand side.
