The authors present a condition under which the image of a set-valued mapping becomes a singleton. The generic uniqueness theorems obtained represent a unitary approach to investigate the uniqueness of the solutions for nonlinear problems. As applications, they prove that, in the sense of Baire category, optimization problems, saddle point problems and variational inequality problems have unique solutions.
