      The authors study the odd-order differential equation \[ x^{(2n+1)}(t) = q(t)|x(t)|^{\gamma }\mathrm{sgn }x(t) \tag{A} \] in the framework of regular variation in the sense of Karamata, under the assumption \(0<\gamma <1\) and \(q(t)\) is regularly varying of index \(\sigma \in {\mathbb R}\). Necessary and sufficient conditions in terms of \(\sigma \), \(\gamma \), \(n\) are given such that equation (A) possesses regularly varying solutions of the two types \[ x(t)/t^{k-1}\rightarrow \infty \quad \text{and} \quad \lim x(t)/t^{k}\rightarrow 0 \quad \text{as} \quad t\rightarrow \infty, \quad k = 1,3,\dots , 2n-1, \tag{i} \] \[ x(t)/t^{2n}\rightarrow \infty , \quad \text{as} \quad \rightarrow \infty . \tag{ii} \] Moreover, the precise asymptotic behavior of all solutions from either of the types (i), (ii) is presented. The third possible type of all positive solutions \[ x(t)/t^{j} \rightarrow\mathrm{const} > 0 , \quad \text{as} \quad t\rightarrow \infty \] has been previously disposed of by I. T. Kiguradze. Remark of the reviewer: \textit{V. M. Evtukhov} and \textit{A. M. Samoilenko} studied by a different method the \(n\)-th order equation of the same kind, and apparently some of their results overlap with the above ones [Differ.
